However, there's a few ACC apologists around here who have made it out like I'm the crazy one. News flash: This is the way things have worked in this league and the way they WILL CONTINUE to works as long as it's run by the same people. Why is anyone surprised by this?

Clemson's been getting shafted by these folks for decades, but they had nowhere else to go due to the SEC's no additional state rule. VT had options, but we regrettably poppycocked those away.

I just hope VT's new leadership isn't just happy to be in the room, the way our prior leadership was. I hope they are willing and able to leverage our football strength into some actual change in this league.

By some accounts, football provides 80 percent of league revenue and VT is clearly this league's third or fourth most valuable football property. Yet, we got passed over last year for a Belk Bowl by an NC State team who we beat handily. The Belk folks wanted us, until the league got involved. And the league really didn't do us any favors this year either. We had every reason to expect a Citrus spot over the slumping Louisville squad.

These guys have no interest in looking out for VT. They're just a crew of guys who are clinging to the way things were 25 years ago, when Raycom Jefferson Pilot was rocking, and the ACC was the premier league. No wonder Corrigan likes the way Swofford's been doing things. It's pretty much the same way he did things way back when.
